Hi

I’ve been put on Rigevidon for peri menopause and started taking it last Saturday . Ever since I have felt achey , some joint pain , exhausted just not right at all . I take it before I go to bed and feel
Ok in the morning but mid afternoon I just don’t feel well. Has anyone else felt like this when starting on this pill for peri menopause ? I not sure if it’s a coincidence and maybe I just not well .

Thankyou for any experiences

X

I have not heard of that drug.

Are you in the UK ? If not it might be under a different brand name here.

Is it a type of HRT?

Lynsy · 18/04/2020 09:11

Yes I’m in the Uk . No it’s a contraceptive pill which I have been put on Instead of HRT as it will regulate my cycle and help with oestrogen levels. I’ve never been on the contraceptive pill before so I’m not sure if this I normal and will pass or what .

OP I've been on ridgevidon and it was fine, no side effects at all. I would call the dr and check everything is ok.

I've been on it for a few years now. It's the only contraceptive pill that my body will tolerate. I know everyone is different but I've not had any side effects from it.

I was on it a few years ago for birth control. I couldn't tolerate it at all - felt utterly dreadful and lasted 3 months before I stopped. However I was on microgynon (similar hormone levels) and was fine. Perhaps ask for a different pill, might take a few goes to get one that suits you. Good luck.

I'm on it for my migraines. I still get them but severity and frequency much reduced. I used to experience aches and pains too which have stopped. I suppose it affects everyone differently though. I had quite a bit of bleeding initially but my GP said it can take at least 3 months for your body to adjust to it.

I got throbbing aches in my calf muscles on it and went to my GP multiple times thinking I had blood clots. Tests were done and everything was fine but I did some research and regivedon is quite notorious for causing muscle and nerve pains.
I also got bloated a lot and would feel nauseas and have an upset stomach as though I had a stomach bug every month.
I’m on a low hormone pill now and still get similar side effects but they are a lot milder now

Thankyou for all your replies . I think I’ll give it 3 months unless things get worse, then see how I’m feeling. I completely agree that these things can effect us all differently. I think I’m in this for the long haul as I’m 42 so just want to try and make this stage of my life as painless as can be if that’s at all possible.

Thanks everyone
