What to try while waiting for doctor to reopen

I've been thinking about going to the doctor since late last year, but symptoms had been mild and so I kept putting it off. It's now all getting a bit much- just at the point the NHS is flat out!
I realise it's likely to be a few months before I can get an appointment now (which is absolutely fine), and I want to manage things as well as possible in the meantime. But I am quite unsure about whether there are alternative remedies which will actually help etc. Any advice please?

I'm 45, have a mirena so no periods. Am assuming it's peri as I now can't sleep and have ridiculous anxiety. Never had trouble sleeping before but a bit of anxiety at much lower levels in past. Skin is dry and I am lacking in... oomph! I do all the right things- exercise, diet, not much alcohol, reduced caffeine, good bedtime routine etc. But I've been awake since 2, again. I'm taking menopace vitamins... anything else I should be trying?

Thanks in advance!

Same here. Left it too late, had telephone consultation with unsympathetic and frankly useless GP two weeks ago, now stuck in no man's land.

You might still be able to order Emerita Pro Gest online from Europe or the States - it's a bioidentical progesterone cream. I tried it last year. It helped a bit with the anxiety, but I am nearly 48 and further along now and really need HRT for oestrogen deficiency - hot flushes really kicking in.

If your doctor is helpful and well-informed, unlike mine, they might give you a low dose HRT as a result of a phone consultation, you never know! You are over 45 and the guidelines say they should offer it. You can get your blood pressure and weight done at the pharmacy, they have stand-alone machines so I can't see that being a problem.

Red clover was the only supplement I really got any effect from, worth a try while you wait?

Thanks both. I might try for a phone consultation.
Happy to try anything which stands a chance of doing something so will check out red clover.
Thank you!

I know you've said diet - but since I started cutting out ALL sugar/sweeteners on an near-Keto diet, my flushes have stopped. Even patches didn't achieve that!
