Precocious puberty = early menopause?

Ok so. Back story, I started developing early, around age 8. Mum took me to the consultant, ended up on hormone injections until I was 10 to try and delay any further development and obviously therefore my period.

So I started my first period around age 10/11. I understand there is a scientific link between precocious puberty and early menopause.

I am age 33, 34 this year. My teenage years my periods were horrendous, not all that heavy, but the pain oh my days!! I used to vomit every single month, had diahorrea, that sort of thing. Had my two kids, dream periods. I’ve always been every 28 days without fail.

However. As soon as I hit 30, they begin to shimmy about a bit, just a day or two early or late here and there. Recently my cycle has been around 26 days.

Then in October just past, I had a really heavy first day, clots and all. Never had them before. Rest as normal. That didn’t happen again until January. Both times I had a splitting headache that wouldn’t budge, similar to when I went into labour.

And then this month, I’m all of 4/5 days early!! Painful. No clots or anything. My PMS chops and changes but it’s mostly always been bad enough that my husband created a song called Stellas Grumpy Week...

Does this sound like perimenopause????

You need to ask for a referral to a menopause specialist gynae and have some tests to see what's going on.

Thank you so much!! This is a huge weight off my shoulders!! So annoyingly my mum has a hysterectomy in her 40’s and she was just flooding constantly and genuinely looked grey. She was not well! So she never actually went through menopause 🤦🏻‍♀️ I think my grandma went through it usual time but she can’t remember obviously 😂!! My aunts all went through it the moment they turned 50.

Not in my case. Had my first period at 10 and they’re still regular now at 40.
