My luck finally ran out on the Evorel Sequi patches.
In a phone consultation my GP prescribed Evorel 50 and Provera tablets. I assumed that I would change the evorel patch twice weekly and then for the last 14 of the 28 days wear a patch and take a progesterone tablet.
However, whilst the instructions in the box say change twice a week and don't have a break, the pharmacy label says 'apply once weekly for 3 weeks then 1 week patch free'
How can I get what I need from the patch if I wear it for 7 days and also if I am patch free for a week? I'd be so grateful for any clarity on this. I'm so confused

You don't leave the patch off, you use them continuously, the label is wrong. If you have a break from the oestrogen your symptoms will return, ignore it and change the patch once a week...every week like you did with sequi.

Thank you so much for your reply. I really appreciate it. I was changing my patch twice a week but do you think I'll get what I need with just changing it once a week?

I'm on Evorel Sequi - or was. I was swapped to Oestrogel and Provera.

Never again! The Provera nearly killed me. Technically, I nearly killed myself. Provera makes me depressed and anxious just as Elleste Duo/Duet did.

I'm now about to start Utrogeston with the Oestrogel instead. I'll be using it vaginally as I don't want to use oral HRT.

Good luck. Hope it works for you but hopefully, the shortage will be sorted if you discover you can't tolerate Provera.

Sorry yes it’s twice a week for evorel 50, I use them and change on Monday and Friday, I don’t know why I said once it may be my menopause addled brain🙄 you may not have to use them for long as sequi is starting to come back into stock and hopefully mor available by the end of March.

Thank you both very much. Unfortunately my GP has only prescribed 12 patches to last 3 months! She didn't explain anything in our phone consultation other than what I was changing to. It just doesn't make sense to change it once a week. My treatment has been so good up to this point so I'm disappointed at all this confusion. I'll now have to take more time off work to have a face to face.
As you say hopefully Sequi will be back soon and I can tolerate the Provera till then. Thank you all very much

The plot thickens! Just back from the pharmacist who confirmed everything rosie said above and that GP has it all wrong! I then asked him when Sequi was back in and he said he's got tonnes! He's never run out!!! So all this drama over nothing!

So infuriating that GPs don't have a clue, it's downright negligent when you consider that 50% of their patients will go through menopause. Glad you don't have to change from sequi.
