Also is it okay to feel a little progesterone discarge in the vagina even after 15min laying down and correct inserting? Thank you,

To be honest, you should insert the capsule after sex not before :)
Or if it's going to happen and you know it, take the capsules orally that night.

A lot depends on how often you are having sex.

For younger women like you who are maybe having more sex, this can be an issue, but for oldies who can abstain for 10 days it's less of an issue!

You will find you lose some of the pill content the next day- some of it is the actual gel capsule, some is the content. I don't think this is an issue, but insert it as high as you can, last thing at night.

My own dr suggested using a tampon to keep them in place if for any reason you insert them during the day.

I'll be inserting after sex. (I start using it tomorrow.)

I don't know if your GP's advice about using a tampon is good. I know from experience if I use a tampon at the beginning or end of my period I'll get thrush as it dries out my vagina (just what a menopausal woman needs).

I do use lube on my tampons now and haven't had thrush since doing this but I don't know how a lubed tampon would affect the Utrogeston so I think I'll be better not doing this.

If I find I'm losing some, for the sake of my knickers I'll be "wodging" with loo roll (folding 3/4 pieces and pushing them against my vulva). It's effective at the start/end of my period with the blood discharge and also great for wicking the blood down to a pad in full flow at night (no more blood creeping up my back in bed).

@agentnully It wasn't a GP, it was a specialist menopause consultant who also trains other medics. GPs won't adviseusing it vaginally- that's off label in the UK for some reason but it's the way it's used in Europe.

I think the idea was to use it for a short while just till the stuff was given a chance to absorb,

I just wear pants in bed on the nights I use it. Or daytime, if there is any left, a Natracare panty liner- no bleach and no plastic.

My husband suggested if use a tampon, the tampon will get the medicine if it leaks instead of my vagina. It made me think.

Also as far as l ve read on other forums all ladies re saying the same thing. They say the vaginal method causes lots of vaginal discharge. After my first insert l had some discharge but now l m on my 4th night of inserting it and l haven t had any discharge at all since the 1st day. I hope that s ok too.

Would toxic shock not be a consideration to using tampons when not bleeding? I’d be scared. That kills. But perhaps there is newer info and I’m old fashioned!

I'm aware of TSS so I'm careful not to use tampons when I'm at the beginning/end of my period. If it's that easy for me to develop thrush I don't want to risk TSS.
