Anyone else on the Oestrogen gel & Progesterone tablets combi?

Can I ask what dose you are on?

I am taking 2 pumps Oestrogel & 100mg (1 tablet) Utrogeston daily.

Does that sound right to you?

The leaflet said 200 mg was the normal does for the progesterone, but that was for sequential, not continuous HRT.

Thanks

I do one pill in the evening and one pump of gel in the morning one in evening.
I must admit the leaflet.was confusing as I switched from continuous patches.

My leafelt gives two options

200mgs for 12 days or 100mgs for every day (continuous use.)

I think you will find it on the leaflet as an option.

It does in fact say for 25 days out of 28. This is to allow for a short bleed if there is any lining to be shed. However, may women will take it every day- it's your choice.

I have three pumps of gel plus 100mg Utrogestan every day. I now take the latter vaginally as it was starting to lower my mood, five months in.

whatisforteamum · 17/02/2020 13:16

A braid did it give you stomach cramps inserting it vaginally? I tried it once and felt unwell.Unsure if it was a coincidence?

Mooserp · 17/02/2020 13:22

Are you pre or post menopausal?

Abraid2 · 17/02/2020 14:20

The first few days were very, very slightly crampy, but now I don't really notice anything at all.

UntamedWisteria · 17/02/2020 17:49

Not sure if your question was addressed to me Mooserp - but I am 56, was on sequential HRT for 3.5 years until switching to this continuous type a few weeks ago. So I suppose I am now post-menopausal, although I wasn't when I started.

Interesting Abraid that it took 5 months for that to happen. I was warned about that, but expected it to happen quite quickly.... and so far seem fine (only 2 weeks in).

I had a lot going on — my father died four months in, my career took a nose-dive — may have been a factor too.
