The Peri Menopause is Tough

savethekoalas · 27/01/2020 21:54

I think I'm at the last stage of the peri menopause.

I back to having bouts of anxiety and sleepless nights. I'm also lacking in energy and grumpy.

Has anyone found anything that works for them? I'm considering HRT

Hrt made a huge difference to me.I tried everything else supplements staying slim walking everywhere .I'm sure this helped but HRT have me back my oomph😀😀

HRT was what actually helped. Less anxious, sleeping better and far less cranky.

Also did some supplements and exercise and cut down on drinking but HRT once I’d got the right one was what actually did it.

Thank you all for replying. Think I'll make an appointment to discuss HRT with my GP

Do your periods need to have finished before you can go on HRT?
Think I'm in a similar position TBH.

I’m peri and on day 10 of Celeste duet

Just do it!

Clouds lifted already

I’m starting having regular periods but I’m 49 and had worsening migraines, insomnia and anxiety. After a year on HRT, I finally recognise myself again. The dip in confidence was so gradual that I didn’t notice it until I was almost overwhelmed by it. I thought it was who I had become. It wasn’t. I’m back.
I cannot recommend it highly enough.

*still having

CatUnderTheStairs · 28/01/2020 22:20

Peri menopause @SpeedofaSloth is when your hormones start going haywire, oestrogen levels dropping causing anxiety, crabbiness, sleeplessness, aches, pains etc. Vaginal..dryness

Hrt does what it says , replaces them so it makes it easier to deal with. Protects your bones and bits as well.

CatUnderTheStairs · 28/01/2020 22:21

So yes you can tak3 i5 while still having periods.

peonypower · 28/01/2020 22:23

I just started HRT at 47. I don't think I am post menopause (mirena so hard to tell), but taking no chances

Just hoping it starts to work soon...
