Do I need Vagifem?

I'm 50. Had a hysterectomy in 2017 and have been on HRT for 18 months.

I've always suffered with a sensitive vulva and often develop thrush for no reason. I've never really had a dry vagina, sex is fine (unless it's sensitive) recently I've found it's become more and more itchy, uncomfortable and sensitive.

I've read about VA but thought this was dryness? Could Vagifem help my itchiness/ sensitivity ?

Yes, I think it might. It's certainly worth a try. I find it's brilliant for making things feel generally more comfortable and 'normal' down there. VA is not just dryness, it can be itchy and sensitive too. I originally thought it was thrush until my GP suggested otherwise. Vagifem is the only form of HRT I use, and I wouldn't be without it.

You might find that the cream type- Ovestin- is better as you can apply it externally to your vulva as well. Vagifem is a pessary in the vagina.

I use vagifem twice a week. It keeps things ticking along. There's nothing worse than an itchy dry vulva.
