odd question but has anyone else around my age (mid 50s) noticed that their vagina seems a bit different? the 'roof' near the entrance seems lower than i am sure it used to be (i don't masterbate so not overly familiar with how it was compared to how it is now..). it's no big deal as it doesn't hurt & isn't uncomfortable but sometimes there is a vague sensation when walking as if i have an air pocket but haven't, like there is something there which is i guess the sensation of the top bit being lower. could be due to having given birth (17 years ago...which changes the layout?). saw a gyni 4 odd months ago about something else, she didn't comment on anything odd but i tend to worry about things that are a bit odd. just wondered if anyone else has this (poss beginning of some kind of prolapse....)

Lack of oestrogen commonly causes problems and can exacerbate prolapses. You can get local oestrogen from your GP. You'll find more info on the meno boards - it's called either vaginal atrophy or Genito urinary syndrome of menopause.

It does sound like a prolapse and they call that 'top' wall the anterior wall. it's the wall that supports the bladder. best thing to do first if you are not doing it already is pelvic floor exercises- 3 sets of 10 a day. Have a look at the website of Michelle Kenway- women's physio.
