We 've all read the symptoms and dreadful symptoms suffered.I've had to stop driving for 2 1\2 years due to anxiety and dizzy spells now I've had joint pains,dry sore mouth,low mood,had moods,fatigue sweats ocular migraines.
Now I'm on HRT.It is early days.However I feel it may be working.😊
I'm considering driving lessons as my anxiety has lessened.This would reopen my life right up as I drove for.32 years before.
I'm going to start pampering myself.
What did HRT do for you?
Did the menopause have any positives for you?

@NoWayNoHow I was mystified as to why I'd suddenly developed such severe migraines when I'd never had them before. It made me look at the bigger picture, and I realised that I was also seeing perimenopausal symptoms.

My neurologist and the GP were slightly sceptical, and suggested that most of the symptoms were due to the migraines. Blood tests came back with normal hormone levels, though the GP was at pains to say the blood tests aren't a definitive diagnostic tool, as normal results DON'T automatically mean you're not perimenopausal.

I waited a few months until I felt my symptoms were particularly bad, then had private blood tests done which showed very clearly I was perimenopausal. It's my understanding that often they'll diagnose on symptoms, though, rather than blood tests. It's difficult when that's clouded by other conditions.

@RumbleMum
Great news transforming in 6 weeks. I've been on HRT 2 weeks tomorrow and feel no improvement. I'm on 1.5 mg gel and a separate progesterone for 12 days. How long did it take before you started feeling better? Thanks

HelpMeHelpTheKids · 21/03/2021 13:47

@Micha1972 I started to feel the effects within a few days - but then I did have pretty dreadful symptoms. Within a month to six weeks I was feeling the full benefit. Good luck!

Thanks. I have awful symptoms too. I am so anxious that hRT will not help me. As lots of people say they felt better in days. What dose did you start on? Thanks

HelpMeHelpTheKids · 21/03/2021 22:15

Oh bless you, @Micha1972, menopause can be the worst. I started on Evorel 50 (I'm not sure how this translates to your dose) and went up to Evorel 75 about a year later.
