Rectocele & vaginal wall semi prolapse

Hi I have rectocele, and have been seen by the practice nurse NOT a doctor. She has prescribed Blissel 50 microgram vaginal gel? I cannot see any info regarding this gel for rectocele. Has anyone got the same problem as me, and can you help with what treatment you have recieved please. I am desperate. I am 57 and just started the menopause. I also have a weakened vaginal wall & my cervix is very low now?
Our doctors will not see patients now. We have to see the senior nurse instead? Only if she says we should see a doctor do we get referred! What the hell has happened to our wonderful NHS!
Thank you for any help anyone can offer.

It's a brand new product in the market - basically oestrogen in a gel form. I sell another version Smile
This will help the tissues get plumper and improve tissue health which will
Help with prolapse as sometimes lack of oestrogen post menopause can cause issues. It's standard practice especially if they are considering pessarys

It's indicated for vaginal atrophy

No amount of vaginal gel or cream will correct a bad prolapse and the nurse is stupid to suggest it may.

Your GP should refer you to a gynaecologist for an assessment- insist. I had a repair of front wall, back wall and uterus in my late 30s- 25 years ago.

The way they work now is to give you vaginal estrogen before these ops to help the quality of tissues so you heal faster.

A very very minor prolapse might be helped by plumping up the tissues with vaginal estrogen but it's not a substitute for surgery.

Hi, Thank you for your kind reply. I thought it seemed a bit like a feather to crack a nut solution. (last time I saw this nurse, she exploded & said "didn't I realise the NHS is on it's knees"! I think she is trying to save the NHS by not giving proper health care! I am so fed up! Would you mind if I asked you what they did for you and has it continued to work? I was told they could put a ring around inside where ever, and hold it up in place? Also another way is to reinforce with a mesh which sound dubious? I am scared stiff it will get worse before anyone listens. The nurse did an internal examination with gloves on (I DON”T EXPECT HER NOT TO WEAR GOLVE OBVIOUSLY) and said she couldn’t feel anything except my cervix being low! Well for heaven sake, she wouldn’t feel anything untoward with gloved on! If I was in a hospital examination, I am sure they would have better methods for examining this problem? Any further help you can offer I would be so grateful. I used the gel for the first time last night, and today I have awful lower abdominal pains where period pains would normally be. As if I have loads of trapped air or something, or a muscle strain. Sorry for long mesg. Thanks again & to everyone who has Kindly replied. x

I have a prolapse too and have been prescribed Blissel. It was my Gyne who prescribed it. Used for the first time tonight so not sure what the impact will be. Waiting for a Hysterectomy but told it could be over 2 years before it happensm
