On holiday quick question about Oestrogel and showering

Sorry for the bother but long story short on holiday in country where I don't understand the drug instructions for use!

Doctor told me to apply Oestrogel (0.06% strength) when experiencing uncomfortable menopausal symptoms. Half of the groove in "spatula thing" rubbed on to thigh per day.

Anyway, I am finding this rather hard to manage on holiday (hot country) as I am in and out of shower, sea and pool but I really need to take the gel as suffering really awful hot flushes, joint pain, anxiety etc.

Forgot to ask doc how long after you rub gel in can you shower ie how long does it take to get absorbed in to the skin, to the point where showering won't wash it off?

Thank you to anyone who knows!

The instructions ought to come with the leaflet, Is this the first time you have used gel and is it being prescribed outside of the UK?

Anyway- the instructions on Oestrogel say no showering or bathing for 1 hour after applying.

So that ought to be fairly simple- either apply when you get up and allow and hour, or apply before bed.

Also do not rub in the gel. It's supposed to be smoothed on and will still be tacky and visible for a few minutes while it dries.

Apologies for the belated thanks JinglingHellsBells; I am very grateful to you.

Yes, it's the first time I have been prescribed the gel and I am abroad for a while visiting family and I can't understand the instructions that came with it as they are written in a language I don't understand.

Thanks again; that info is very useful and much appreciated (I didn't know about not rubbing it in!).
