You don't have to be a mum to register with Mumsnet.

You don't have to be a gran to be on Gransnet.

Not all women are mums and not all mums are grans.

But if you are a WOMAN you will be menopausal one day.

The link to Gransnet is ridiculous. It links to a page by Dr Louise Newson. She's great but the advice linked to is available on her own website.

And as a by the way I object to MNHQ taking adverts from the company who make Ladycare magnets and having it on that link.

The Royal College of Obs and Gynaes produced research on what works and what doesn't and they clearly said magnets do not work.

Hi everyone,
Thanks to KatyMac who raised this the other day (and we didn't immediately know what she meant so it's taken a wee while to catch on, sorry!) and everyone else who's queried it.

As we've just said to KatyMac, we're now looking into why this content isn't on our site as well because goodness knows it's needed on both.

We'll report back as soon as we hear. Thanks again for flagging it, cheers everyone.

Katy raises an excellent point. I'm 40 and not a gran, but I am a sweaty hormonal wreck!

This is a good link for information about which brands are available/not available.

However, it does say no problem with Kliofem - but Ive had to do a lot of phoning around this morning to find a pharmacy which has it in stock

I got irked at the comments that we should use the shortage as an opportunity to review! I’m all for putting a positive twist on events but damn...I don’t need a review! I need my HRT!!

This board is weird too - where is the last poster and number of posts, and date? It is just a list of headings.

NoSauce · 14/08/2019 22:19

But if you’re not of GN age and going through the menopause you don’t need to rely on an article on GN or MN! Google is a wonderful thing. You just type some words in and bingo, hundreds of answers appear.

Presumably there is a board called Menopause which can be accessed either through Gransnet or through Mumsnet.

I'm on here, as always, through the Health topic on Mumsnet and I imagine most people are.

I do think, however, we need to rethink our prejudices with regard to grandmothers. I think the average age of a first time grandmother is 49 and surely we all know people younger than that who are already grandparents. In my early 40's , Amongst people if my own age group I knew new mums, mums of Primary, secondary and university aged DC's and also some who already had grandchildren. Isn't that the norm nowadays?
