Femseven to Mirena plus oestrogen

Hi,
I’ve only just found out fem seven Sequi is no longer available and after confirming with the manufacturers unlikely to be available until next year. My doctor prescribed me Evorel Conti as an alternative based on the fact that I’ve just turned fifty and have been on HRT for a year. I wasnt convinced this would be the right one for me as I was still having regular period before starting HRT and feel it’s probably to early to go on a Conti but was willing to try it. Also I was really disappointed that the progesterone content would be different to the femseven which I’ve done so well on. However I can’t find any chemist able to supply more then a few weeks worth and they can’t order anymore in at present, so I really don’t want to start this new drug only to have it stopped in two months. So, I’m wondering please if any one has changed from the femseven Sequi to the Mirena coil plus separate oestrogen and if so how they have found the switch as this is the closest option I’ve seem to have found that would be similar to femseven.
I’m getting so fed up of phoning and visiting chemists, and I now only have two patches of femseven left so the clocks ticking. I’ve tried everywhere to get a coil fitted but everywhere’s booked until July so I’m going to a walk in clinic tomorrow to see what I can do. Even queried about having it fitted privately but it’s over £500. Just keen to know if anyone has switched to the Mirena oestrogen combi. Thank you

Hi there ..I had a Merina fitted 5 weeks ago - using with an evorel 50 patch. I'm really happy with it so far. It was recommended to me by my Gynae. I was previously on the evorel sequi regime, which was fine, but always had couple of down days from withdrawal of progesterone with the conti patch - now none of that, and my mood feels very level & no bleeding now... I'd definitely recommend Smile
