Expectations: Are painful menstruations indicator of menopause symptoms?

Hi,
I recently started menopause due to surgery, and am wondering what to expect.

I was wondering if, generally speaking, having uneventful period (no cramps, no mood change, etc.) increases your chance of having an easier time in menopause?

And can the opposite be true, namely that if your periods were bloody hell (pun intended), you are more likely to be impacted negatively during menopause?

I really don't think there is any connection.

Menopause symptoms are related to how our bodies react to loss of estrogen and it's very individual. Lifestyle factors like diet, exercise, smoking, being overweight, etc can influence the severity of symptoms.

Painful periods are caused by the release of prostaglandins during the 2nd half of a cycle when you have periods. No connection between these and menopause symptoms.

Thank you, I felt there was perhaps anecdotical correlation (hoping really!), alas...
