Feeling cold. Could this be a perimenopausal thing?

I'm 45. Periods still fairly regular but cycle is definitely shorter.
For the past few months I find I am really feeling the cold. Sometimes I just can't seem to register that I must be warm - wearing ample clothing in a heated room for example.
I have had a few what I can only describe as 'cold flashes' too - like a hot flash in reverse.
Does anyone else have this?

I hear you. I’m also 45 and like you cycles getting shorter. Have some other symptoms that make me think I’m peri too. I’ve been feeling very cold for this whole winter but assumed it was because I’ve lost a bit of weight since last winter. Maybe it is a hormonal thing though. I can’t seem to regulate my temperature very well at all these days.

See your GP and get your thyroid function checked, OP. Feeling cold even in warm rooms is a classic symptom, and hypothyroidism is quite common in middle aged or older women.

This is interesting because I’m the same. I’ve just invested in a load of thermals because I just can’t get warm. Except when the hot flashes arrive at night.

I’m 48.

Is agree with getting your thyroid checked, but would also say that I experienced cold flushes. I had my menopause induced at 49 for health reasons. I can remember thinking that if been warned about got flushes, but not about cold ones.

Having said that, for me, the cold stuff usually came after the hot stuff, so I actually welcomed them. I found it easier to get warm than to cool down
