Could this be perimenopause?

Just posted on general health before noticing this forum so reposting here...

I've had a set of symptoms develop slowly over the past 6 months or so. I've started getting PMT (tired, irritable, anxious) which I've never had before. I've started getting occasional anxiety which makes me want to hide in bed/not see people and I've started having periods of real exhaustion like someone has turned off a switch. I had to leave work today and went home and slept for 2 hours - and I'm someone who can never nap. I've also been getting very bad headaches at the same time as being tired. At the moment it's not that regular, maybe twice a month.

I've decided to see the doc and got a GP appointment next week so they can do some blood tests but I was wondering if any of you had the same set of symptoms and what it was.

Google chucks up all sorts but one which seems to fit is perimenopause. I'm 40 so not that old. I've got (mainly symptomless) endometriosis - not sure if that would factor in anyway.

It is possible and it can last a few years. I was 38 when I started my peri.

Is there a test the GP can do to find out?

I think if you are having periods they won't test you.

It does sound like it although you are rather young.

You can check your FSH but blood tests aren’t always accurate. My gyn made his diagnosis based on my symptoms.

Ages ago (maybe 2010) my FSH was fairly low due (probably) to my endometriosis. I had large cysts which were removed in 2011. The surgery and endo may well have affected my ovarian reserve which I guess could explain any early symptoms?

I have this too and I'm 41.

Sounds like your thyroid could be the issue, especially with the extreme tiredness.
