My periods are clock work every six weeks and I’m on for just over a week. I used to be on every 3/4 weeks so it’s changed in the last six months. Two weeks ago I started waking up hot in the night, in the last week i am having a hot flush every half an hour. Is this normal ? Would it happen so quick?
I’m not sweating, just hot, and I get palpitations at the same time too. I’m a big clueless about menopause... do I need to take something, or us there a chance it’s something else... wondering as my periods still quite regular. Thanks

Go to your GP do not presume it is the menopause please.

How old are you?

Yes it sounds like peri menopause- your periods have changed and that's the first sign.

I think it might help to have a good read about peri meno.

Look at the website of Dr Louise Newson 'My menopause doctor' - website. Loads of good info.

Thanks
I’m 51, it’s just a bit odd as I’m still having periods (every six weeks lasting a week, as they always have). These flushes are literally bang on every thirty minutes. I’m not sweating, just hot like a wave of it over me and palpitations at the same time. Going to doc on Wednesday....

@Sunnysummerdays
TBH unless you want to discuss HRT with your dr there is no point going only to be told 'It's the menopause'.

You don't just get hot flushes after your periods stop if that's what you thought. Your cycles have changed, and that's a sign of peri menopause.

Have a read of this and if you want to try HRT see your GP but otherwise there is no point seeing a dr.
