Evorel to Bio identical Progesterone

What’s the difference in cost to the Nhs?
Secondly what’s the difference in breast cancer risk?
I have a months supply of Evorel Conti. The doctor I will have to see to change is only there one day a week. So am I best staying on the Evorel for a month first? Given that I feel a bit better after 4 days? Then try and get a new prescription? I do need to go armed with facts though. Does the bio identical progesterone have any differing effect on Endo?

There is a very helpful website called menopause matters where i think you will find the cost answer and a lot of very knowledgeable women on their forum.

This is a paper on different risks @teta.

Re costs- Utrogestan is 25p per 100mgs capsule- in a month you'd take 24 = £6, less than the cost of a prescription.

Thank you Penny and jingling.
I’m currently on the patches therefore is it better to use the vaginal progesterone dose and a oestrogen patch? I’m reading about the insulin resistance effect on Breast tissue and bearing in mind I had insulin resistance in pregnancy ( and are therefore at higher risk) would this mode of delivery be safer?

I think- and am not a dr- that the difference is possibly very small indeed. I'm not aware that it's an either/ or issue and think the insulin resistance is more of an issue with oral synthetic tablets.

I don't know about the insulin resistance so can't comment. I used to take my progesterone vaginally but found it uncomfortable later on when they had dissolved so take them orally now with no problems.

Thank you for that information Penny and jingling.
I will ask for the tablets next time. This Evorel is making me feel incredibly anxious even though I’ve done a couple of long sessions of Hot Yoga over the last two days.
