Mammogram and hrt

Hi! I am 43 and on cyclical hrt ( Femoston 2/10) due to my early Meno. and I have no bleed on.
It is time for my annual mammogram but I feel my breast too tender and I’d like to ask at what time of my cycle it is better to have my mammogram.
My gyn said after my period but I also feel my breast too tender and painful sometimes. Any ideas? Thank you!

You can't be in the UK- in the UK mammograms are only offered at 50+ and many women are 51 by the time they are called and post-meno.
Mammograms here are only every 3 years unless there are problems.
So by the 2nd one, nearly all women are post meno.

The reason for this is that they feel breasts are too dense before menopause and the images aren't always clear.

Having said that some areas in the UK are trialling mammograms from age 47.

Is there any time of your month when it's easier for you?

Ideally, your breasts will be less dense straight after a period but as you're not having bleeds.....

not sure what to advice- do you have to have them annually?

ps I am on cyclical HRT in my 60s I've had several mammograms since being on HRT ( every 2 years and pay for mine). I don't find my breasts are sore so it's not an issue. I've never been advised to have them at a certain time of the cycle, but could arrange to if I preferred.

So far, HRT hasn't made my breasts much denser so I'm told which is good.

Just choose a time when it's comfortable for you- how far ahead do you need to book the appt? Can you more or less walk in or book a few days ahead?

Thank you for replying Bells!
Yeah I am not in UK and at my country mammograms are recommended after 40 every 1-2 years with regular scans. After taking dydrogesterone my breasts are not too tense but not completely loose.
After taking HRT are a bit bigger and firmer than before, I don’t know if it is good or bad.
