HRT here I come!!!

A combination of:
Emotional numbness/lack of interest
Insomnia (which for someone with chronic fatigue is a bloody nightmare)
Eating and drinking all night - blood sugar dropping so much about 3am!
And so bloated I could cry! never mind the bowel issues

I had a surgical menopause and was looking out for hot flushes/night sweats....but I can deal with them! The other crap? Hell no! I need drugs

I was hoping for a nice gentle wind down not staring numb exhaustion and wind

You just use it. what's the point asking your gp who thinks you should have a period after both ovaries were removed? Hmm

It says' tell your dr as you may need special checks'

This means you may need uterine scans if any of those conditions produce any bleeding or unusual bleeding.

It doesn't say don't use it.

JinglingHellsBells · 18/01/2019 16:26

Sorry it actually says' you may need checks more often..'

This means you may need to see your gp more often than the annual review of HRT. This would be so they could ask if you had any issues around bleeding.

So, your GP (if they know ANYTHING ABOUT HRT) might ask to see you 6-monthly.

Yes just stick it on. Any search on fibroids and hrt say it’s fine, such as... www.menopausedoctor.co.uk/menopause/fibroids-and-the-menopause

Btw, if your patches are anything like my evorel estrogen only ones, I found that sometimes they didn’t stick for the required times. I was advised to use a hairdryer on them to help with this. And baby oil helps get the sticky marks off Smile

Yes, I get it OTC in Spain, no way would my old, male doctor prescribe HRT. Antidepressants only! I'm not taking those. Need to protect your bones and heart.

I have self prescribed with much brilliant info on here and much research.

Come to Spain and stock up!

I'm sorry JinglingHellsBells you are right - I skimmed it and catastrophised as I am feeling insecure and scared and I'm not sure I trust the GP entirely - which might be more about me than the GP to be fair

I have written my dates on all the packets and I'm going to put it on now - bit nervous - last time I had a plaster I had to have my knee lanced! Fingers crossed

It's clear - I generally do better with clear plasters!

Although I choose micropore

Baby oil does not work with me . I have to scrub well to get marks off from Everol .

KatyMac · 18/01/2019 18:05

Let's hope water works for me as I can't use. Baby oil or any soaps or lotions Grin

KatyMac · 19/01/2019 09:03

well I don't care if it's psychosomatic or a placebo I got 8 hrs sleep last night!!

Still no marks on my leg and energy to ride my bike this morning

over50andfab · 19/01/2019 12:42

That’s great news. I’m with you...always believe in the power of the placebo effect Grin

KatyMac · 21/01/2019 15:30

I didn't repeat that excellent night but I had over 6 hrs both of the next 2 nights

So I think it's ok so far - I really need the vagifem tho' even going a few hrs late causes symptoms
