I've had anxiety most of my life but I have never experienced anxiety that comes with Peri menopause!
Help me! Tell me your stories! Stop me from going completely bloody gaga!
I have the tiniest pain in my thigh which happens to be near a small vein, diagnosis...blood clot 🙄
I could punch myself, come on, give me a good luck up the arse or at least tell me your woes! Might cheer me up 😂

Not sure how to give you a good luck up the arse but it made me smile 😊

I have the same anxiety and at times it drives me insane! And probably dh and everyone around me as I frequently share my worries with them all.

Mine all started with a bang last year when dd started secondary school and for a few months I was in and out of a&e with chest pains. My lovely friend spent many a night sitting with me in the waiting room whilst dh was home with dc. It was only when I saw the heart consultant and she said that as I was born in the same month as her she thought it was the menopause! It is still tough to deal with but now I know I can sit at home and worry without running off to gp at first ache or pain 😊😊

Hi kahlua I think we've spoken on here before? Horrendous isn't it. Convinced it'll kill me before the morning! I know what you mean about poor husbands too. Mines wonderful and always putting my mind at rest.

Elleste duet hrt helped me with that, and The Rage.

MummaPI · 08/01/2019 23:02

Hi sponge
I have a private appt on Friday so I'm hoping for some advice on hrt. I worry about the risks of it but not sure I can go on like this

Emerald13 · 08/01/2019 23:12

Hi! I guess that if your anxiety or your depression is caused by peri, hrt is the most suitable therapy and you can I ask for it I guess.

MummaPI · 08/01/2019 23:20

Thanks emerald
I've had anxiety at a low level all my adult life but this feels different. Can come on out of nowhere from the finest thing, plus emotions of rage, tearfulness and just fed up.
I'm 43.

It's mental isn't it? If you want some real fun, google all the symptoms/effects of peri-menopause and play bingo with them. And do look out for online support groups and message boards - some excellent advice out there.

MummaPI · 08/01/2019 23:26

Thanks!

I was exactly the same and I know how AWFUL you feel! Since I started HRT (evorel sequi patches) I feel so much better, pretty much close to being back to my old self. I also take evening primrose/starflower/B vit Holland and Barrett supplement, NU Nutrition 5-HTP (before bed) and Vitabiotics Osteocare supplement.

I also have a clean diet, absolute minimal processed foods, no sugar, I eat brown bread, rice, pasta (no white versions), minimal caffeine, plenty of fresh fruit and veg, lean protein, lots of beans, pulses, nuts, salad, plenty of water.

Exercise-wise, I now run 5k every other day (and I'm not a big runner, and it doesn't come easy...), but it really helps, I also do variety of yoga, Pilates and sometimes weight training, basically whatever I feel like at the time.

But, if all that sounds too much, the HRT patches were the big game changer for me. I did try the tablet form but they did nothing for me.

Good luck, please don't suffer, try the patches I'm so glad I did.

Tailfeather · 08/01/2019 23:35

How old are you? I've been suffering from bad anxiety and my periods have become very irregular but I feel pre-menopausal most of the time. I'm 41.

ineedaholidaynow · 08/01/2019 23:41

That was the main reason for me starting HRT, together with trying to sort out The Rage. I was either crying, panicking or angry, or all 3! Definitely helped

MummaPI · 09/01/2019 08:12

Well I survived the night!! 😁
Thanks for all your comments, I'm 43 and will be looking into hrt I think.

Kahlua4me · 09/01/2019 09:00

Glad you survived! I have gone to bed some nights convinced I won’t wake up the next day, but here I am 😊😊

I think we have spoken before, it takes over my life at times and other times I am fine. Think it is connected to my cycle and also to what I am eating.

Good luck with your private appt please let us know how you get on.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 09/01/2019 14:14

I was worried too OP, but PollyPerky who used to post on here a lot, convinced me the benefits outweighed the risks. As I was in danger of throttling my husband, as well as the doctors unhelpful receptionist, I reckoned the HRT was the lesser of the evils Grin

icecreammonday · 09/01/2019 14:19

Have a look at this, hopefully will put your mind at rest re HRT risks and benefits.

MummaPI · 09/01/2019 15:01

Thanks all.
Yes I did see that programme, I was always worried about being young for hrt so would it mean I'd be on it for longer. But on days like today and yesterday I'd take anything just to feel normal again!

OP posts:
SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 09/01/2019 16:07

I would suggest you give it a go, if you have the chance. Apparently many women take it for many years without ill effects. GP's seem to offer anti depressants as a first option...maybe they are cheaper than HRT?

Emerald13 · 09/01/2019 23:37

I don’t think that it is because of money, I guess that they are poor informed and not willing to take any responsibility. Pushing ADs is an easy suggestion.

MummaPI · 11/01/2019 13:22

I'm back from appt, lovely doctor seemed to know her stuff.
Been given estrodial (sp) gel low dose and progesterone to take on days 15-28.

MummyTo3Beauts · 11/01/2019 18:31

@MummaPI

Did they diagnose you through your symptoms or have they done any tests?

MummaPI · 11/01/2019 22:49

Symptoms. I took in some old results of blood tests from last year but she went on my symptoms.

OP posts:
MummyTo3Beauts · 11/01/2019 23:06

I've told two doctors my symptoms now and both have said I'm too young
