OK I can't sleep - at night I am not tired - I mean I am exhausted but I don't get that I cold just fall asleep feeling

I have ME/CFS so sleep is dear to my heart and on a bad day I can sleep 15-18 hrs so missing out at night is killing me

What can I try? WIll HRT help?

Don't know but I feel your pain. I wake about 4-5 and can't get back off. That's after 5-6 hours of flushes.

KatyMac · 16/12/2018 10:36

Oh now my flushes aren't to bad I have gone from half a dozen to about 10-12 now I'm in menopause

& why on earth do I only poo at 1am?

Yes HRT helps a lot with sleep.
I now get 6 hours unbroken sleep every night unless I forget to take the HRT.

6 hrs sounds like a dream right now - I slept 4:30ish to 9:30 ish

This cannot go on

Have you tried taking magnesium? I started on it as recommended by my trainer but I've noticed that since I've started I'm having great sleeps. I take it before bed in a capsule form but I've heard that in oil or cream form it works for others.

KatyMac · 16/12/2018 11:30

hmm I do take magnesium tablets

I wonder if I am sleeping enough just at the wrong times

Hrt didn't help my sleep issues but it does help others.

I've tried so many different drugs and other but ultimately the only thing that helps me is to try to relax. Them menopause has turned me into a buzzing hyper being inside. Ironically to tired to be so much as used too il on the outside! I find it extremely hard to relax and any type of stimulation gets he all wired up.

So I work on trying to avoid stimuli and to do all I can to get into a better state of mind. It helps but my sleep is still a real struggle and nothing like what it used to be. Still when I do get a decent night sleep what a treat it is!

I can sleep in the day no problem! But unless I give up all daytime activities I'm not going to get enough hours

Maybe I'll start Sewing at 11pm
