Does anyone else get “night sweats”

Could this be another divine symptom of the peri menopause? It started a few weeks ago, I’d wake sometimes but not every night feeling like my back was covered in sweat. It’s ramped up and now I’m waking like this 3 or 4 times every night.

Yes, been through this. I sometimes slept on a towel or had a towel over the pillow. Keep another nightie or cotton t shirt by the bed as you get soaked in sweat that then goes cold. Maybe a damp flannel too. I got one of those water sprays in an aerosol can from boots and a mini fan. On the up side I had very low heating bills for five years, good luck!

I have recently started taking Vogels Sage tablets, think they are called Menoforce. They do another meno tablet but the sage ones are specifically for flushes, the other one is for general symptoms. They seem to be helping me. I started them nearly three weeks ago and for the last few nights I slept through. My daily flushes have also gone, with the exception of when I have a coffee when I get a slight warmth. Might only work for a while but I will take the help!

Christ yes. Bane of my life. Black cohosh seems to help somewhat.

Yes i get very hot all night. I now use a "chillow" a sort of cooling gel pad that goes in your pillow case, I keep it in the fridge during the day. Dh hates it ha ha!

Yes. I used to wake up five or six times a night drenched. Its why i went on HRT. Never looked back. Sleeplessness is debilitating.

Well I would say I’m glad I’m not the only one but I hate to think of you all suffering too.

It is getting worse, I was awake every 90 minutes last night...I’m not sure the DC managed to wake me that often when they were newborns.

I've just posted about silk thermals - they keep me dry and comfortable in bed. They're thin and light and the texture is soft and dry, so I reckon they'd be excellent as pyjamas on their own, and Patra sell short/sleeveless versions if you're prone to feeling hot. (My night sweats are more about feeling cold and clammy so I wear long thermals under cotton pjs.)
