Anyone else get this, it's terrifying. Feels like it's going really fast and I can't sleep. Had it last night so I'm tired and emotional this morning. Due on in about 7-10 days

I get this. Often caused by eating sugar or being stressed. Also try calm breathing techniques. Obviously if you’re really worried, then go to yr GP.
It’s pants!

I have had palpitations in the past due to anxiety and occasionally get them to a much lesser degree now. It can be very scary. Three things have helped me - cutting down caffeine to just two cups of tea in the morning (planning to cut it out altogether next year), no alcohol, and breathing exercises. Try breathing in for four, pause, breathe out for four, pause... you have to focus and it helps to calm you down.

It would be a good idea to go to your GP just to check, though.

I have had my heart checked and I have minor thickening of the mitral valve and mild regurgitation which I'm told isn't something to be concerned about. Back in 2 years for a check. I just wondered if this is more hormonal?

Mumma i had these symptoms of palpitations/ heart racing at night but also during the day, on and off, it is a symptom of perimenopause. I had many more symptoms which i found so debilitating i decided i would try HRT which made all symptoms disappear within a couple of month, including these horrid palpitations which frightened me. There is a trick i would do when my heart started racing : when it happened i would make myself cough quite sharply and loudly and strangely the whole thing would stop-till the next time. You can try that, it helps other ladies too.
