No problems getting to sleep - I'm gone within 5 minutes - but it's the early hours waking, usually 3.30-4am just lie there getting more & more anxious about the sleep I'm NOT getting. Have to be up 6ish anyway due to four legged alarm clock. Work full time in demanding public service role, 2 school age kids. Been on oestrogen only tablets for about 4 years & have merina (spelt wrong!) coil insitu. I do all the usual wind down for bed things - phone normally off & downstairs overnight, get plenty of fresh air & regularly walk 10,000 + steps a day. Do I just accept this is how it is now & put up with feeling low, worn out & wretched??

What’s your caffeine intake like? My sleep has improved no end with cutting out caffeine in the afternoons. No 3am waking.

1-2 cups full fat tea in the morning - decaf rest of day😔

I have found that this goes in phases...... waking early for a few days then back t9 ‘ normal.’
Sometimes I take nytol when going through a bad week.
I feel your pain. I too lead a healthy life style and am at a loss as to what else I could do!

Check out other factors like temp of room, quietness etc. Do you need stronger tablets. As you get older it does get harder to sleep. Also if in demanding job think more stress reduction techniques.

I was awake from two to three.

I did not even realise how poor my sleep was, until I'd been on HRT for a few weeks. Having segued seamlessly from years of non-sleeping babies into peri-menopause, I had forgotten what a decent night's sleep was.

HRT sorted it out.

Thank God for the scientists who invented HRT!
