Hi am wondering if anyone can help me,I had a hysterectomy 3yrs ago and resulting of that my bladder has dropped and am stress incontinence and the hospital are saying I need a operation called colposuspension but my doctor says I can control this with pills but am only 41.theres lots I miss out on as a family cause am leaking all the time I’ve got two kids 7 and 5, has anyone else had this operation and if so what was the results x

I had a bladder repair many years ago. Not the one you are advised to have but similar. I was younger than you are now, when it was done.

Drugs will not rectify a prolapse. Your dr might give you drugs that can reduce frequency and are for overactive bladder, but they can't put right a physical problem where your bladder has prolapsed.

My operation was done vaginally so not the same as the one you might have. There are other less invasive operations such as gel to support the bladder neck but it all depends on how severe your issues are.

If I were you, I'd ask for a 2nd referral and get another opinion because different consultants have different ideas of what is best.
