Evorel 75 patches following total hysterectomy + removal of both ovaries

Hello all

I have had a total hysterectomy and both ovaries removed, and started Evorel 75 patches today. I have previously had an adverse reaction to Elleste Duo 2mg so am very much hoping these patches are better suited to me.

Is anyone else in my situation? Would be good to hear experiences and offer support!

Hi there,

I’m in the same situation, just had a total hysterectomy at the age of 44 so instantly went straight into the menopause (Yey us). I’m on the same patches as you and thankfully they seem to be working. No hot flushes but emotions are up and down! I’m sure they will work for you ... keep
me informed 🙂 xx

Hi @suehitch

Glad the patches are working for you. Sadly, they did not seem to stick well to my skin so have now swapped to oestrogen gel - I think it is called Sandrena.

Yay us indeed!

Hi,
Thanks for replying, hope you’re finding that the gel is working for you. Patches seem to be doing the trick for me, but still struggling with my emotions! 🤷🏻‍♀️ Xx

The patches were crap for me too in this situation. I moved to 4 pumps of Eastogel last week and already feel better, I initially was told I was depressed but think it was all down to lack of hormones.

That’s really interesting cocoallure, and one for me to bear in mind as I’ve been on the patches a month now and I seem to be getting worse. Not sure if it’s the patches, recovering from the total hysterectomy or being thrown into the menopause?! 🤔🤷🏻‍♀️🙈

Perhaps ask for a medication review with your GP, Sue.

I have been suffering with really awful hearburn for the past five days, i think down to the gel. I also have the start of a migraine today, but I do tend to suffer and have meds for it. If they get worse I will speak to my gp, I think.

Let us know how you get on.

Sue be gentle on yourself it's a massive operation and really messed with my head. But my undercurrent of feeling like I was permanently living under a black cloud is lifting and that feels good. Take your time and be kind to yourself. But I do agree the patches are a bit pants, I think they just throw what they know at people and hope for the best! I also take a progesterone tablet at night which helps me sleep too
