Symptoms disappeared... is that normal?

For a few months I had various symptoms of the menopause... hot flushes, waking at night etc. I realised today that I haven't had any symptoms now for a couple of months. Seems odd to me... I was expecting to go through a year or so of this and then come out the other side. Now it all seems to be on hold. Has anyone else had this?

My symptoms stopped for a few months, and then started again, but seem to be gradually going away again. I think my poor body just doesn't know what to make of it all!

Should add that on one hand I don't mind not having hot flushes Grin I just would prefer for it all to stop in one go... periods and everything!

I hate to say it but I had this for years with the peri meno, it just gradually worsened! I'm a year post surgical meno now and still getiing symptoms, but it is bearable so far. Better than the peri menopause anyway!

It's perfectly normal to have this stop-start stuff. That's peri. Your estrogen levels are all over the place. when they are high (or if you have a period) it all settles down for a bit then the symptoms start up again and may not go away for a loooooog time.

Do not think once your periods stop it's all over- far from it- that's when it can get a lot worse. Sorry.

Good luck OP. I hope it's done for you but others advice here reflects a lot of people's experiences including mine. The on and off effect can go on for quite a while.

I had at least 6-7 years of it and still 10 years on get a few flushes.

My mum had flushes for 30+ years into her 80s- not as uncommon as you think.

Yes, I assumed due to various herbs etc. It wasn't. The menopause is a cyclical as periods, but not at predictable.
