Estrogel plus another source of estrogen?

Hi, I am in peri. About a year ago I started on femoston 1/10, which helped a bit, then went to 2/10 which helped a bit more, then (as still getting severe flushes) oestrogen and utrogestan. I’m now using 4 pumps estrogel every morning and still getting flushes.
Has anyone combined estrogel with a ‘top up’ of estrogen, for instance with a patch or pill? Or any other recommendation to deal with what I assume is very low estrogen? I am going to see a gynaecologist who claims to specialise in meno in early Sept, and would like to have a think about options in advance.
I work in a male dominated environment and the flushes are a major problem. I’d do anything to deal with them.

I don't have an answer for you I'm afraid, but watching replies with interest as I've just gone from Femoston 2/10 to Zoely (combined pill) and think I will struggle with slightly less oestrogen (1.5mg). So I'd be interested in an oestrogen top up too. Hope you find a solution.

You are already on a very high dose of estrogen- 3mgs, compared to the usual 2 pumps of 1.5mgs.

How often and how much Utrogestan are you using? presumably 200mgs x 12 days a cycle. How far into peri are you and how old are you? Younger women often need more estrogen but you shouldn't need more than 3mgs daily.

When you apply the gel, how are you using it? 4 pumps is a large amount to apply and absorb all in one go. I use 1.5 pumps and split that between morning and bedtime. I'd find 4 pumps at once impossible to apply (mine goes on my upper arms.)

1 You need you estrogen levels testing with a blood test

2 Maybe try lifestyle measures too? If you aren't already doing it, Some of us find exercise like 30-60 mins a day, brisk walking helps, plus yoga or something relaxing as well. Cut right back on carbs , no alcohol, no refined sugar etc.

Thanks both. I am applying it all at once. I will try splitting it, as yes it is a bit much in one go. I am 100 mg utrogestan for 24 days per cycle (which I assume is 30 days) - but am taking queens earlier advice to cut back. 48, and I think 18 months since I first noticed symptoms. It creeps up!
Just as a matter what of interest, has anyone managed to get meno treatment on private health insurance?

My understanding is that the gel ought to be spread thinly over a large area so it's absorbed. if you are applying 4 pumps it is possibly going on thickly and not being absorbed. I spread less than 1 pump in total from my elbow to shoulder (1/2 pump her arm) . 2 pumps per arm or thighs would be impossible! I don't have that much skin!

You cannot get meno treated on insurance but you can get symptoms if they are not 'meno diagnosed' covered. ie heavy periods but once meno is diagnosed they won't continue to cover.

1/2 pump per upper arm!
