Recurring thrush - menopause?

Posted on the women's health section this morning but no responses do thought I'd try here for the afternoon crowd
I'm currently on my fourth bout of thrush in two months. I've never suffered from it before.
There doesn't seem to be an obvious cause - No change in toiletries / washing powder / loo roll / cotton undies / no tight fitting jeans etc.
For the first two I took over the counter oral tablet and used external cream.
Third time I went to the gp who prescribed a 7 day course of same tablet and cream.
Fourth time different gp has prescribed same tablet again but only a single.
Swabs were taken last time and confirmed thrush so no doubt.
Not had sex in yonks 🙁 so not being reinfected by partner.
So, could this be due to menopause? Send to be every 3ish weeks - I'm 45 and have a mirena coil so don't have periods but when I did it was a short cycle. Gp has said the only way I'll know if menopause is when I get hot flushes which sounds a bit ridiculous.
Any suggestions welcome as its driving me mad.

Thrush in peri is common, but I would suggest you get your glucose levels checked as recurrent thrush can be a sign of high sugar levels.
Your doctor is talking rubbish about hot flushes, some women including me never get them.

Thank you. I'm having a blood test needy week to rule out diabetes.
And yes I thought waiting for hot flushes to diagnose menopause was archaic and bit what i expect from a youngish Female gp!

You need to change your GP, that one is clueless.

Cutting out carbs will help to make it go away and keep it away. Carbs feed it. So cut out all obvious sugar, hidden sugar, bread, pasta, rice, fruit etc.

Stick to lower carb veg and if you eat it, meat, fish & eggs.

It takes about 2-3 days for the worst of it to go and in about 4 days it’s gone, but you need to stick with the no carbs.

I know my blood sugars aren’t being well managed if I get thrush, it certainly gets me back on the low carb wagon.
