Today I have been prescribed Evorel Conti Hrt patches. If you take this hrt, how did you get on with it? I'm feeling scared to stick a patch on. Am I being silly?

I’ve been on Evorel Conti for just under a year. The effects are subtly positive, sleeping better, no waking with palpitations, fewer aching joints. I stick them on alternate bum cheeks twice a week, nothing to be scared of!

I have been on Everol Conti for a few months now . I'm 53 . I had been very anti HRT despite suffering badly with insomnia , flushes , low mood. I hadn't had a period for nearly 2 years at this point. I'd been to see the GP about something else and she said just try HRT, and because I know and trust her, I did.

I slept through the night for the first time in years , the flushes went within a week and I had energy again.

It's not all positive though . I've gained weight despite not changing my diet . I know the research says HRT doesn't cause weight gain but maybe it's water retention ? I gained on the pill too .

Weirdly , I've started to sleep less well now. The flushes are still gone. I had a little brown spotting and a pmt like ache and pmt -like crying jags! I think that's probably the progesterone .

I still feel uneasy about using HRT though . I wonder if I should be trying alternative remedies ( magnesium for sleep for example). I'd really love to hear from anyone else who is using everol conti patches or other HRT.
Thanks in advance
