Well, a lot of us find perimenopause and menopause a real challenge, there are numerous threads depicting the negative effects of this sometimes very long phase of our life.
So i thought i would start this thread : the positive effects of menopause that you have experienced, physical, emotional, social, anything positive you would like to share, some of us could do with some good feel feedback, so i am now digging deep to share with you some good things about my own experience with menopause !

I don't care about people's opinion of me - i use to worry about it all the time. It has had a very positive effect on my mental health.

I am more laid back about my appearance - don't get me wrong, i take pride in my appearance in general but i was very proud for buying my very first pair of sleepers and ditched the french fluffy mules, comfort i call it !

I accept myself for who i am and feel more relaxed about it than ever before-i always used to feel like the last potatoe in the bag! I now feel much more in control.

I am so much more aware of my body's signals and now take time to exercise, eat well, i listen to my body - something i was never aware of in the 20s', 30s'. It has had a positive impact on my physique (even though raging hormones are hard to fight sometimes.)

Those are only a few notes that i want to share with you all, i want to trigger a positive response from you all, i want us to re-read these notes and find some comfort when not feeling too good, great easy therapy.

Perimenopause has changed me and i never wanted that at the first place, however i also realise that Changes need to take place in this phase of menopause and it is those changes that make me feel good after all,

Sorry about the long post, so if you are still awake : your turn now !

I guess people comment more when they have something to moan about!

I definitely relish my increase "I can't be bothered to care" attitude.

I was so much more unhappy at age 15... or 25. Ageing has been good for me. :)

What a wonderful thread! After 8 months of struggling I’m grateful for my early meno!
It helps me to understand that life is not forever and to find happiness to daily small things and that I’m still alive!
It makes me feel closer with my partner and my wonderful parents, who take care of me all these months psychologically and practically. They said that I was always the strong child and my meno helps them to see my sensitive aspect and to feel comfortable to give me a hand.

Due to my meno I met (on line) other people younger than me with POF or sufferers from ovarian cancer and I was surprised with their strength and optimism!

And the most important of all is that my experience of meno helps me to be more caring and with more knowledge for my patients regarding mental and psychological issues. I am more concerned about the hormonal imbalances and their effect on brain in general!

I've suffered from hormonal migraines for over 18 years and I'm really hoping that menopause will be the end of them. Bring it on!

Corlan, one thing i forgot to say was the end of migraines in my late forties, i am now 50, so that was a real positive relief, i hope you will be relieved as i was, maybe eating clean foods and drinking much much more long term helped me to get rid of them. All the best :)
