Is 36 too young for menopause?

I have read a few posts and I think I have probably answered my own question. However, maybe there is someone feeling a little like I do, confused & suddenly old?
Does the menopause cause you to have ‘heavy’ boobs? I remember the same sort of feeling when I breast fed (which was near on 9 years ago), my periods are regular as clockwork but as I’m getting older I have unbearable abdominal cramps, sometimes this causes me to have diarrhoea. I also have hot flushes, mainly at night, I wake up in a pool of sweat. I also have days where I feel really emotional, I want to cry but for no reason. I had a episode at work today, I couldn’t hold back the tears after someone asked me if I was ok, I couldn’t explain why I felt the need to cry but I couldn’t stop the tears from flowing. I would appreciate hearing from anyone in the same boat or has already been through this. TIA x

You need to look at a charity website- The Daisy Network- for women with premature menopause (under 40.) There is a lot of info. If your GP isn't able to help, ask for a referral to a specialist. The treatment is either HRT or a certain type of birth control pill- Qlaira.

If your periods are still regular, your GP needs to look at other reasons as well though. Loose bowels with periods is quite normal- know lots of women who say this happens (as it did for me) . Sweating at night can be for other reasons such as a virus - have you been unwell? Also the unbearable cramps- could be endo.

Looks as if you need a full investigation - bloods, pelvic scan, appt with a good gynae - to see what's going on.

I haven’t been unwell & only notice sweats when it’s the time of the month.

I think my mum said she had endro & had to have a hysterectomy quite young, not sure if it hereditary

sweating in the run up to a period is very normal. You may well find your PMS gets worse as you get older and that's what all of this is about, not meno.

Either way the joys of being a woman lol 😂

Night sweating and some of the other symptoms sometimes show up with thyroid problems. They're the first symptom I noticed when mine went wonky. May be worth a visit to the gp to rule anything else out.
