Perimenopause and bladder probs

Sorry if TMI Blush
I'm 47 and def started peri. Miss periods every now and again. Hot flushes at times etc.

Over the years I've had a few bladder issues but it's really affecting day to day life now. I feel like I constantly need to go to the loo even if I've only just been. I also get back ache quite a lot but no UTI's show up in tests (and no blood etc.)

I feel uncomfortable all the time because of the sensation of needing the loo. I'm almost certain I haven't got any kind of prolapse because there is nothing 'there' but it does feel like something is bearing down if that makes any sense at all.

Does anyone else recognise this?

Its called vaginal atrophy. It also affects the bladder and is caused by falling estrogen. The treatment is estrogen cream or a tiny pessary for the vagina . You need to use it for months and often for life to stop it coming back. See your GP and ask - and read about it online.

Ah I'd heard of vaginal atrophy but hadn't put two and two together and realised it was this !
