My period is usually 24 - 28 days long but this time I'm having a period after only 18 days and my previous period was slightly lighter than usual. No other symptoms but am I starting the menopause do you think?

:)
FSH changes so often though from month to month in peri. It's really unreliable. Your GP should do the test if you are under 45 and are worried.

I'm about to be 45 & my periods are becoming increasingly erratic. I had 2 18-day cycles followed by a 45day. The shorter cycles seem to lead to heavier periods.

I conceived DD at 40, when my cycles were short but regular (around 23 days).

Polly, I am 45 and have been having hot flushes for the last couple of weeks (I also had them around this time two years ago). Do you think I am close to the menopause? I am curious about the FSH tests - would they work with me, as I have a Mirena coil (so presumably that shouldn't affect my actual ovulation)? my 'periods' whilst with the coil are just muddy, light, irregular shows.
lotty sorry for hijacking thread!

Is a person allowed to take HRT when TTC or pregnant?!
I think OP has to focus on her higher priorities.

My cycle length has had all kinds of patterns in my life; I wouldn't treat a slight change in that as a big sign of peri-meno.

OOh, seems HRT can actually boost fertility & make people get PG! Or so I read. So worth a visit to GP sooner rather than later, Lotty.
