Should I be worried about this?

I've been having HRT which since September has included testosterone. I recently went back for a follow up and had bloods done...they showed a very high testosterone level. Should I be worried I'm turning into a man? 😂

it's ok unless you sit with your legs wide open and want to piss standing up.
Other symptoms could include an urge to mansplain and being unable to find out where your clean underwear is kept.

if you lie on the settee with your hands down your pjs rubbing your fanjo then yeah you have got a problem

I feel you start farting uncontrollably, then yes, you are turning into a man.

Yes I've been anxiously awaiting the inability to look for things properly 😂

Can you still hear ok? The ability to listen will be one of the first things to go Grin

Resist the temptation to keep rearranging the shed.

Seriously though...should I be worried by this?

When you had your levels tested, was there no follow up?
I don't understand why a dr would look at your results and not discuss them with you.

You need to ask whoever is prescribing you the testosterone.

Cherylene · 08/12/2016 14:22

How much are you actually taking?

MostIneptThatEverStepped · 08/12/2016 16:32

There was no follow up to the tests I had in September so I presume results were normal then. Then I was copied in on a letter to my GP 2 days after my recent visit giving my results and saying he had reduced my dose (after I'd gone and filled the very £££ prescription).

So I've gone from one tube a week to one every 2 weeks .

Who is monitoring this for you?ie Who wrote the letter? They are the people you need to talk to.

I'm only asking as GPs are not 'supposed' to prescribe it (it's off label and specialists only) so does he actually know what he's doing?

One tube a week/ fortnight sounds a huge amount. I may have got this wrong but I'm sure someone I know who used the gel has managed to get weeks and weeks from it- something like 6 weeks or more per tube.

Maybe ask on the Menopause Matters forum- more women there use it.

It's Prof Studd so no worries about his credentials. Just not a lot of communication. I presumed (maybe wrongly) that if it was a serious concern he would have contacted me directly.
As for the tubes, they are very tiny. For a man the standard dose is one per day .

I will call his office ...not keen to get hauled in for another cripplingly expensive consultation though!
