Mad periods

KittyKrap · 07/08/2016 11:10

I'm 48 and my periods are every 28 days but last November I had my period, a week later another period then a week (or so!) later my usual period, this was a month after getting my cool out so I didn't worry too much.

Back to the usual 28 days but today I've started again (19 days since my last one). My periods are always really heavy and I'm dreading having to deal with a period every fortnight or so.

This sounds like the big M yes?

I'm going through similar. I've gone from a regular 32 day cycle to three periods in seven weeks. The worst period pain I've had in ages too. I'm also overheating quite regularly! Luckily the insomnia I had a year ago seems to have settled down and I haven't had any other symptoms but I'm pretty sure this is the start of it all. I just want it to hurry up and be done, really.

The doctor may be able to guide you I had similar symptoms,'was not found to be menopausal yet' however they gave me the mirena coil- literally changed my life! So happy with it. Periods like that are just so awkward!

Thanks for replying! I had my last mirena out late last year, the mood swings were horrendous. Even my doctor agreed as she can't take hormonal things either. I was kind of hoping that one would see me through menopause.

We're planning a weekend away soon and I'm dreading having to pack super tampons - just-in-case Confused

There are also tablets you can take transexamic acid or something like that. They really work to slow the flow.

Or Northisterone tablets which stop it totally.
