Femoston-conti - experience?

Hello all,

After two years of trying to push through meno symptoms without HRT (the main symptoms for me have been hot flushes, night sweats, insomnia and low level crossness - none of which are attractive) I've given in.

I've been put on a medical trial which is about the method of delivery (pills or trans-dermal - I got pills) rather than the HRT itself, and took my first pill tonight.

Does anyone have any experience of Femiston-conti and are there likely to be any side effects in your experience? Being on a trial means additional monitoring, which is good. But I am a bit anxious about it all, as I need to be well (various reasons, including a husband with cancer and elderly parents). The info leaflet is - in the nature of these things - pretty scary.

Any advice gratefully received.

Okay, I was suffering really badly from the perimenopause and found everything out there on the Net SO helpful in deciding what to do. It's now a year on and I am back to my old self pretty much. My main symptoms were exhaustion, anxiety, hopelessness and brain fog. I went to the doctor who put me on Femeston which was an absolute disaster for me. My symptoms became far worse but the doctor said I had to give it at least three months so I soldiered on. Big mistake. If a medication doesn't work for you I think you know within a month. I was crying all the time and unable to cope with the smallest things. I'm a teacher who is used to dealing with stress and responsibility but suddenly I wasn't coping. This culminated in me having a bit of a breakdown at school and going home sick for ten days. I came off Femeston straight away and it was like a huge weight lifting. Although the antidepressants (Sertraline) helped I did not feel they were addressing the root cause of the problem. A friend recommended the London Hormone Clinic on Harley Street. I've never used private medicine before but was desperate. After blood tests (the NHS hadn't done this) I was told that my oestrogen levels were fine (probably why Femeston didn't work)but that my progesterone and testosterone levels were low. They gave me creams of these as well DHEA. They also told me to take good quality magnesium, oral spray vitamin D with K. Within a few weeks I felt human again and now six months later am off the antidepressants. The treatment cost about £700 in total but it saved me from going under. I hope this helps.

I have recently started femiston conti 1/5 after terrible side effects with tibilone, kliofem and everol conti and feel much better and constant bleeding has stopped 😁 have had headaches this last weeks but schools back and I'm more stressed after a relaxed summer so may just be that. I'm a bit different as I'm taking hormone injections to shut off ovaries so it's a medical menapause but need to find an hrt that agrees for after surgery. So far so good 👍

Hi. I've been taking femoston 2/10 for about 5 months and although it's helped my hot flushes and vaginal dryness. I feel bloated constantly. I've been on a daily calorie intake of about 1300 and my stomach still feels uncomfortable. I'm 49 and think I'm post menopausal. Does anyone think either the oestrogen or progesterone maybe too high or low?

Hello there,
I would like to check if anyone else has had a similar experience to mine regarding HRT. I was on Angeliq for 5 years - wonderful experience, menopause symptoms free, no weight gain, all good ... until Bayer decided to stop making it. I was moved to Femoston-Conti (the higher dose) about a year ago and I have experienced a monthly bleed (very similar to having a period but with less amount of bleeding), weight gain, broken sleep (often but not always) and bacterial vaginosis (never had it before), all since swapping to F-C; has anyone else in this forum had any similar experience? My Gynaecologist is suggesting that I take Utrogestan in addition to F-C or change to HRT patches ... I don't know what to do ...? I was doing absolutely fine with Angeliq and now I am at a loss as to what is happening ... Thank you in advance

Hi all I know this is a very old thread. I was looking for some positive feedback back on femoston conti.

I started my hrt journey on novofem but after 18 months my symptoms began to return. Plus the monthly bleed after no periods was insufferable. for the last 10 days of pills my life stopped because of the anxiety and feeling low.

Two months ago I started taking femoston conti 0.5/2.5 I felt much better on this style of hrt but experienced really disturbing dreams which would effect my mood and anxiety levels, also some hot/cold flushes.

My doctor has now changed my dosage to femeston 1/5 ... I am only a few tablets in, but I’ve noticed quite a lot of bloating my mood and sleep are much better already, but I have bloating and everything that’s goes along with that, 🙄 excess wind etc ....should I just persevere and see how it goes.

HRT has been life changing for me, it’s made me feel more like me than I have done in years, whatever happens I will continue to take HRT I spent so many years of my life feeling awful and not knowing why. I recommend it to all my friends you don’t have to suffer there are so many options available.

Keen to hear any feedback back on the bloating etc and your positive feedback back on femoston conti 0.5/2.5 and 1/5

Thankyou

(This is my first post)

This has literally been a life saver for me. I entered menopause at the same time as my eldest son had a brain tumour and my husband had a breakdown. I had to care for both of them, while working full-time. Femoston Conti made me feel like me again, giving me the strength to get through this - healthexpress.co.uk/femoston
