But ....I don't know. Looking at it but not sure about taking it. Gut feeling? Being stupid? Any thoughts? Other than the flushes and night sweats which are awful, I am coping more or less OK. Am 51. Last period was April.

Can you explain what you mean by 'gut feeling' and 'being stupid'..not sure what you are saying.

Sorry. I wanted to get through menopause without drugs and apart from the flushes, I don't have any other symptoms which I can't live with. I have read that Prempack is one of the older HRT options and some people say not to take it because of this. At the moment I haven't had a period since April so am not keen for these to start again which they will with HRT. I guess I'm just not wholly convinced that HRT is a good thing and yes, I have done a lot of research on it.

Prempak is an older version and you are fully entitled to discuss that with your Dr and ask for a newer and better sort- such as patches or gel- all transdermal HRT is safer.
I'm going to 'challenge' you :) on why you want to do this without drugs. If you have a headache do you press on without drugs? HRT is not actually a drug anyway, it's a natural substance - like insulin or thyroxine - which replaces what you'd already have.
Not sure if you've looked at the Menopause Matters site? The info there shows risk and benefits at certain ages. Age 50-60 the benefits outweigh risks and age 6-70 it's equal. Women on HRT ( stats show) live longer and healthier lives. I think I'd like to know more about why you say you think it's not a good thing and how you've arrived at that opinion, in order to point you in the direction of recent research and reports- such as the one by NICE, British Menopause Society and International Menopause Society.
