Very early menopause - or something else?

Everything stacks up.
I'm 36.
I need to visit the GP, obviously and will do, guess I've been putting it off ( mainly because our local surgery has been ' condemned' and nigh on useless)

If I list my concerns, would any of you be kind enough to assess whether you think it's likely in your experience , or if it's something else potentially?

Historically - periods like clockwork, past 2 years, started being more erratic - not drastically, but were so clockwork before, I noticed. Have even definitely missed a couple at least (I do lose track, not keeping dates, but am not sexually active, so not too fussed about that)
No pains or cramping issues, as I have never had anyway. Periods heavy but not unusually so and short in general.

Had a couple of ' spotting' incidences in the middle the past 18 mths, and just the other week a dark brown ' sludgy' ( sorry) type loss that lasted 2 days.

PMT for the past 12 months has been practically constant and is HORRIFIC, I literally feel like I'm going mad - practically suicidal - but luckily only in my head - it got so bad I noticed the difference in my feelings, and now it's almost constant.

I do feel warm all the time, but no hot flushes ( as I have read them described)

I'm basing all of this on the fact that any small change to my cycle is noticeable as it's been so textbook for 22 years.

as an aside, I am overweight with a high BMI, 5ft 8, size 18, but 17 stone with a lot of fat around my middle.

Looking forward to any insight any of you may have! TIA

Hi there

Does early meno run in your family? worth finding out.

The weight thing- this might sound silly , but- are you overeating, generally eating the wrong stuff and not exercising? Reason is that other issues like thyroid and even PCOS can cause erratic cycles and other symptoms.

Being very overweight can cause a whole host of problems, often hormone-related, or being overweight can be a sign or endocrine problems anyway.

My advice would be to see your GP for blood tests and also advice on the weight gain.

Yes PinkFrocks, you are right.. It's the Drs for tests, absolutely because it could be anything you mention. It doesn't necessarily run in the family.
My Nanna was early '50's and my Mum died at 49 , although she had terrible, terrible gynae problems with excessive blood loss .
My lifestyle is incredibly sedentary - no exercise whatsoever ( not proud) but my diet is varied.

I think it's the difference in the PMT/moods that is so alarming and made me think early menopause more than the cycle changes.

Thank you for replying!
