Anyone else on Kliovance

I went to my GP last week with lots of post menopause symptoms - mood swings, anxiety, vaginal dryness, loss of sex drive and insomnia - and she put me on Kliovance. So far my moods have seemed better and my insomnia is definitely better but my sex drive is still zero. I have looked on Menopause Matters and MN but very few people seem to take Kliovance. My GP put me on it because I didn't want patches (I am allergic to plasters) and I am aged 55 with no periods for a few years.

Has anyone else taken Kliovance and had good results? Most people seem to be on Elleste Duet or Angeliq. My GP wanted to start me off on a low dose HRT, so maybe Kliovance is a lower dose than some of the others. My main worry is that I will get breakthrough bleeding as that sounds horrible, especially after a few years without periods. I remember having horrendous breakthrough bleeding with the mini-pill and I don't want to repeat the experience.

Grateful for any stories people have of Kliovance, positive or not.

Have you compared the actual ingredients with other tablets? They are sometimes identical even though the brand name is different.

Klio is 1mg esradiol and 05.mgs norethisterone (pretty sure many other types are the same.) There isn't anything much lower than 1mg estradiol in pills for combined HRT.

One thing to bear in mind is that tablet form HRT does carry a higher risk of blood clots. If you stay on it after 60, the advice is to swap to transdermal, so that's patches or estrogen gel (plus a progestogen.)
