I had to
when I read this as I am the same age as your mum- and thought gawd is that one of my kids posting about me- being nuts
I did not as far as I know go nuts although my family and friends may think differently.
TBH although it's worrying you, it is up to your mum to deal with this herself.
She is still a young woman (i think of myself as young anyway!) so she needs to get a grip, in the nicest way.
Many women are given- erroneously- ADs for dperession in meno when what they need is oestrogen.
You might like to get her to read the website of Prof John Studd ( gynae) who has strong feelings on this.
It's up to her to "own" her symptoms. There is loads of help out there- meno clincis, expert gynaes etc who can offer help and support.
Being 50+ is a stage of life when you re-assess- meno or no meno. If she has issues to do with age and getting older, she'd be better off seeing a counsellor.
Sorry- this is not really helping but I don't think it's your problem. Your best move is to encourage her to seek expert help.
The cancer risk of HRT is low if you take it for under 5 years- very low.
Why won't she see a gynae and talk all of this through instead of having fixed ideas that are not based on fact?
it might help BTW if you re-post your first post here -anyone wanting to post has to flip back to your link.
