I need to find a private gynaecologist who specialises in early menopause. I would like someone who also works within the nhs and is in the north/central london area. At the moment I am just looking at a list of names in directories. I would really appreciate a recommendation I need to find a way out of this hormonal madness. Thanks

Can highly recoomend Mr Michael Dooley. www.mdooley.co.uk
been seeing him for 3 years- lovely, great, patient centred.

he works from Harley St, Lister, and Edward 7 London. He also works NHS but in Dorset.

You can self-refer- contact nos. on site.

I recommend Dr Adam Rodin; he practises at Barnet hospital (NHS) and privately at the Garden Hospital in Hendon, north London. I can honestly say he is totally brilliant. I know a few other women who see him and they all recommend him unreservedly. You can find him on

www.londongynaecentre.co.uk.

If you do decide to use his services, keep this thread updated! good luck.

Mr Dooley is a menopause specialist and also a fertility gynae. he is director of a fertility clinic, amongst other things.

I also see Mr. Dooley. He has written a book which is on amazon, can't remember the name of it.

He recommended I tried Menopace which I'm going to give a try. He told me to do more exercise aswell.

Nic Panay is excellent too. He is on Harley Street but you can still get to see him on the Nhs at I think Hammersmith and Chelsea and Westmin.

He is such a kind man who listens so attentively. I nearly cried in my first appointment with him so relieved I was to have someone who was so interested in my symptoms. I've been seeing him for about 5 years now I think!

thanks all for your recommendations. I found one through a recommendation and like you say FoxinSocks I nearly cried just sitting and reciting my symptoms. It was such a relief to have a combination of someone who listened and time. My GP believbes the menopause is a straightforward process -and is only worth 10 minutes of her time.
