Oh dear, I think I have just twigged on. Periods every 10 days, feeling sick and dizzy. So dry that I cannot insert a tampax, with a horrible burning, itchiness. And am close to finding my knickers in the fridge and bundling my ds into his school uniform on a Saturday. My memory is just awful and all my words get tangled up.

I'm 43 next month with a history of rmc, they did test me for perimenopause a few years ago and the results were ok.
Is this the begining? Have just had the 'embrace it' talk from my mother(bite tongue firmly) but we have only just accepted that there will be no more dc after my 6th mc last year and this all seems so fast.
I just wanted to kick back this year forget about my unruly body and just celebrate what I have ifykwim.

SorrySad
sounds as if it could be.

Go back to drs and also ask for a thyroid test.

Blood tests are not that reliable- your hormones fluctuate daily socould show normal one day and lowest of low the next!

Ideally they should test at least twice in 4 weeks.

Ask about a vaginal HRT cream such as Vagifem or Ovestin to cope withthe burning- it is very safe and not like taking full blown HRT- they give it to very old ladies too ( I mean 70s and 80s.)

Thank you for that info cabbageroses I had read somewhere about vagifem but wasn't sure it was ok. Also didn't realise they should test twice.
And being very stupid now but why the thyroid test?

If your thyroid is dodgy it can give rise to weird periods , tiredness and all sort of stuff that is simialr to the menopause.

If you are meno-ish ask to see a gynae as you are a bit on the young side and HRT is recommended for meno before 45. The risks that apply to older women do not apply if you take it up to noraml meno age of 50.
