Hi, There seem to be so many support threads for the south. I am 29 living in Horwich pregnant with first baby. I also belong to the Expecting Feb 06 thread.

If there is anyone in the local area who would like to join this thread...please jump on board {smile}

Llou, I have never been on one, this will be my first but we are just planning a meal (La Tasca or Tiggis), get to know each other, have a drink (for those of you who are not preg) bit of a boogie....just a general social evening really.

Obviously it is all in a very public place so you feel safe on first meets etc...

Sounds like a nice idea. By the 3rd Dec, my bundle of joy will be here. I might need a break and some socialising. Trafford Centre is not far from me.

Hi

I live in Rochdale and also a teacher. Two children aged 3 and 14 months.

llouou · 18/08/2005 13:10

I'm expecting my first on 3 Nov 05. So only back to shcool for 5 weeks and then taking the rest of the time off. I think the drive for me will be getting to much by then.

Rhiann · 18/08/2005 14:27

And it's pretty hard to concentrate on marking when all you can think of is the baby! Will you be going back to work after? I work part-time days a week which I'm happy with but it's still hard!

llouou · 22/08/2005 10:50

Morning,
Yes, i't definately back to work after the baby is born. I will probably take about 5 months off and then go back full time.

Rhiann · 01/09/2005 20:51

shuteye · 04/09/2005 09:45

Hi I'm near Wigan and my dh goes back to work tomorrow (we are both teachers but I am taking some time out) I have ds 10mths and would really like to meet up with people so we can get a group of us together and maybe do coffee or walks etc on a regular basis, different places each time, is anyone else interested, it can get very lonely at times.

gdwildbird · 14/09/2005 23:45

Hi, I'm 29 and live in Blackpool with my DH and daughter who is 14 months. I've been reading your posts for a while but have had such a bad day I just had to write to ask if any of you are as rubbish as me.....let me explain..... I took DD to playgroup for the first time today and she managed to fall off a block on the soft play area and broke her arm! I feel so guilty because I was talking to a friend at the time (although there were 2 of the creche supervisors with her and I was only 5 feet away) but I still cant help feeling to blame. She seems to be adapting well to the whole plaster cast thing but I just can't help these guilty feelings!
Thanks for listening to me go on.... I have a tendency to waffke even when I'm not upset!

morocco · 14/09/2005 23:50

hi everyone
we're moving to Bolton in 3 weeks so I'll be a lancashire lass too. So tictac, we will be just down the road from each other (btw I had lots of bleeding with my second pregnancy and it all turned out fine although my nerves were a bit shredded)
I have 2 boys, aged 3 and 18 months.
If anyone has any ifo on stuff to do with a pair of rowdy toddlers in the Bolton area, I'd be very grateful!

morocco · 17/09/2005 21:57

anyone???

Rhiann · 20/09/2005 21:31

Hi Morocco

My mum and dad live in Bolton so I visit quite regularly. Moss Bank Park is good for kids since it has a good playground and a mini zoo which is free. There's an open farm near Smithills Hall with bouncy castle and stuff. There's Tumbletots at Bolton too. Will try and think of other stuff.
