Here we are chaps. Come and enjoy a virtual meet up as we couldn't manage a real one.

It was the sleepover, yes. We have just taken a bottle of wine round to the neighbour to apologie. grin] Their bedroom is right next to ds's.

There is tons of snow here, in fact, it is almost blizzard-like outside, thick large flakes sweeping down with heavy grey skies. It's quite exciting. I was sliding all over the place when I went to the shop.

We had clear leek and potato soup with chickpeas and tarragon for lunch. DD calls it seaweed soup.

FrannyandZooey · 22/11/2008 14:26

no snow here
we watch the skies with trepidation / hope

I'm sure it will be coming down to you, soon, Franny, I'll blow it along.

I hadn't noticed this was the party thread either tbh.

FrannyandZooey · 22/11/2008 14:30

yes well it is COLD I do know that
boys are all in the bath
we have even put heating on
ds1 still refusing to wear a cardigan - I will know it has reached 4 degrees below if he ever does wear a second layer of clothes (I have 3 layers and woolly tights on)

filthymindedvixen · 22/11/2008 14:36

lol, my boys are like that Franny. I hve heating on and fluffy boots and jumper and fleece. They are in t-shirts...

SuperBunny · 22/11/2008 14:38

Boco How awful. I don't underdstand why this keeps happening. I guess no-one does. Love to you all.

Lully, how would I find you on FB?

Am glad you survived Ikea, FMF. I want to go but shouldn't. And would never attempt it at the weekend. I used to live right by the one in Leeds and would often nip over in the evenings when no-one else was there. In fact, my school was almost entirely furnished from there, other than desks and chairs. It seems toi be my DS's favourite place and he asked to go there as his birthday treat

Why do children never feel the cold?

Guadalupe · 22/11/2008 14:44

It is funny isn't it, mine are all in thinnish tops but we do have the heating on. I am going to light a fire in a minute and flump on the sofa with papers and magazines, tea and biscuits.

It would be good if there was an old film on, though it was quite nice having no tv in the front room last night, ds had it upstairs for his treat and we just stared at the fire. Amazing how it alters the room.

SuperBunny · 22/11/2008 14:50

I'd love to get rid of my tv. We only use it for DVDs and even then less than once a month so it really doesn't need to be here. But I can't quite bring myself to give it away, 'just in case'

Guadalupe · 22/11/2008 14:51

Hmm, I enjoyed the room being different, but I expect I will flick through for a film in a minute. And ds2 is watching something or other.

TooTicky · 22/11/2008 16:57

SB and Lully, I will suggest you to each other on FB

Dcs keep arguing and fighting over stupid things. Dd2 is waily-tired but temporarily distracted - until ds1 realised she is playing with HIS monster truck.

pinkspottywellies · 22/11/2008 17:49

Is Lully on Facebook? Can you suggest me pls TooT!

He sounds lovely, Avi!

TooTicky · 22/11/2008 18:45

Pink, go and look at my status update

Avi.
Dd2 currently shouts, "My sister put a spoon up her nose!" at random strangers. She then follows up with "My dad's got an alligator" and "My brother's famous bottom". They are Jeremy Strong titles but lots of people don't know this, so lengthy explanations ensue.

My children prefer nudity
Getting ds1 to wear pants is an art.

SuperBunny · 22/11/2008 19:12

My DS is similar. Everytime he does a wee he takes everything off and says, "I don't need to wear my clothes, do I?"

TooTicky · 23/11/2008 00:22

yes, that sounds familiar. I quite like that they are uninhibited at home though. Will have to consider lock for bathroom door soon though I think - when dd1 gets her periods she will not want boys wandering in and asking questions.

filthymindedvixen · 23/11/2008 11:45

SB - was the leeds one we went to!
apparently we have played word games against each other on FB but I didn't know it was you!

SuperBunny · 23/11/2008 15:49

I have played word games with you on FB, FMF? Who are you?

Tatties · 23/11/2008 20:12

Hello loves

I have been utterly crap at showing my face here and I am sorry. I have been wanting to but we are still kind of getting used to things and when ds FINALLY goes to sleep at night I feel like collapsing

Very cold here but no snow. My boys also refuse to wear cardigans/jumpers indoors, while I have several layers on and will stand burning my arse against the radiator

I am very sorry to hear about ill people and I hope things improve quickly

TooTicky · 23/11/2008 20:22

Tatties darling
You know we have two threads on the go atm....
