Sounds nice. erm, maybe. dunno. depends. (need balls)

TotalChaos · 16/04/2008 18:50

which is probably what most people are thinking when they say "yeah great to a meet-up"

OP posts:
hecate · 16/04/2008 18:53

you could always come to mine for coffee instead.

I mean, I probably won't dare let you in, but I could put a hose through the letterbox and feed coffee through, and throw cake at you from the upstairs window.

TotalChaos · 16/04/2008 18:54

or I could wear a blindfold and balaclava

seriously - if you feel more comfortable having a random axe murderer mumsnetter to your house, I'm happy to do it that way.

hecate · 16/04/2008 18:57

Really? Well, to be serious (for once) you are welcome. do you live in buxton then?

stripeymama · 16/04/2008 18:58

Me and dd will be based near Matlock for most of the summer (at the Nine Ladies, for anyone who knows the area/issue?)

If anyone wants to meet us we'd love to!

TotalChaos · 16/04/2008 18:58

no, in Liverpool, but Buxton is certainly easily day trippable. Also Riven is going to be up from Bristol area around that time, and Buxton seems positively next door by comparison to Buxton

the quarry?

ah, well, about 20 miles from hartington (buxton yes?) ! bet that's too far! If not, you're v welcome of course.

However, there also is a lovely coffee shop/book shop in bakewell, which is only 10 miles from buxton and very accessible. (and one of very few places I actually feel comfy in!! It's good.)

hecate · 16/04/2008 19:07

you too Stripey. ?????

hecate · 16/04/2008 19:11

oh - I'm not trying to get you to change your plans to suit me, btw! Don't mean to suggest you must alter your buxton plans in any way!

TotalChaos · 16/04/2008 19:12

yeah, come along stripey.

Hecate - book shop sounds v good, is it open Sundays?

OP posts:
hecate · 16/04/2008 19:13

I think we may have a plan then

OP posts:

I suddenly feel I've barged into your meet-up and taken over. so what is your preference?

TotalChaos · 16/04/2008 19:18

it really takes very very little to get me into a bookshop . and presumably it's a nice independent one so it will be my social duty to buy a few books from it

OP posts:
hecate · 16/04/2008 19:21

this is it

stripeymama · 16/04/2008 19:36

Ah sorry was putting an overtired dd to bed!

Yes - the quarry, the protest is almost over and the site is due to be cleared over the summer. We'll be there helping to tidy up and leave the land as it was found. So riven, we'll be smellier than you I bet!

Bookshop/cafe sounds dangerously good.

In fact, now I've looked at the link I think I have been there before when dd was very small. Do they have a sort of lake/pond with ducks?

If its the place I remember it was very good and child friendly/accessible.
