C'mon girls it's been far too long. We must have this night out. I could certainly do with it and I'm sure you could too - even more so after we have survived this half term week with the kids.

Ok I shall take it upon myself to suggest a couple of dates and venues and hopefully we can get something arranged.

Venues

Choice of:-

Corianders in Bournemouth (our original meet up place
or
Surfermum's suggestion of a night out in Broadstone for eats and drinks (Surfer are the fab offers still ongoing?)

Dates

Choice of:-

Thursday 13th March
or
Thursday 20th March

Anyone available? Votes please.

Should be able to do the 20th, but may be visiting the outlaws for Easter!

So, where are we going then?

Surfermum · 26/02/2008 22:59

Seeing as no-one seems to care where we go shall we let Sparkler decide?

Where's she gone?!

Sparkler · 27/02/2008 12:18

Let's do a Corianders then on Thursday 20th March. 7.30pm alright for everyone? (BTW ANM is now Dustystar)

Sorry to interupt your thread ladies, but I have posted this in a couple of places and haven't had any response, can anyone help me?

Its a bit of wishful thinking really, I currently live in France and would love to move back to the South Coast area. My house has been on the market for a year but as yet we havn't had a nibble. So while I am waiting I am trying to find out as much information on the area as possible, I have posted previously and had some good answers, but I now have some other questions.

I have decided that Poole is probably a little expensive, and there seems to be less chance of getting into one of the good schoolsas they all seem to be over subscribed (I may be wrong, so feel free to correct me)

Christchurch seems to be the place that a lot of people have reccomended as good for families, however where in Christchurch? My list of criteria:

  1. Catchment area to both Primary and Secondary Schools.
  2. 3 Bedroomed House
  3. Good local facilities, ie shopping
  4. Would love to be not far from beach, however I do realise that you cant have everything!

I would appreciate any help/advice that you can offer.
Ta in advance

DelGirl · 02/03/2008 09:04

hello

I don't know about primary's in the aree but Twynham is a good secondary and I think is in the top 20 of the country (or it may be top 100) anyway, it's very good.

Expect to pay upwards of £250k for a 3 bed semi I would say. It's a nice area and I don't think you can go too far wrong with any area of Christchurch really though happy to be corrected.

The high street is small but has most things you'd need. Nice restaurants and a few bars and Christchurch Quay is lovely.

I guess it comes down to your budget as to where you'd live. I can have a quick look in the property mag if you like or tell you which sites to look at? hth.

bubbleandsqueak · 02/03/2008 09:21

That would be brilliant Delgirl, I am ever hoping that I'll be able to move soon! I have a budget of about 350k. TA

Psychomum5 · 02/03/2008 10:05

there are'nt actually that many primarys in christchurch, as it is quite small as towns go!

Christchurch Infant School (4-7)
Christchurch Junior School (7-11
Twynham Comprehensive School (11+)
Priory C of E Primary School (4-11)
Stourfield Junior School (7-11)
Stourfield Infants School (4-7)
St. Peter's R.C School (11+)
St. Katharines C of E Primary School (4-11)
Mudeford Community Infants School (4-7)
The Grange School (private I think, and not sure in ages)

all are good according to different friends whose children go, so hope this helps some

christchurch is rather more expensive housing whise tho than most other places, especially the closer you get to the senior schools. I know of 2 friends that have moved out of the area, and altho they had budgets of £3k, they couldn't afford to move back and get the size houses they needed, one only needing 3beds!

am not saying it is impossible tho, as they may have been ultra fussy!

OK ladies - all booked. Table for 6 at 7.30pm. Table is booked in my RL first name btw
They did warn me that the have a large party booked the same night at 7pm so food orders may be slightly slower but hopefully won't be too much of a problem. I told them not to worry too much as long as they kept the wine flowing we'd be ok!

OP posts:
dustyeastar · 17/03/2008 10:12

lol sparkler Do you think they'll be as noisy as us???

Surfermum · 17/03/2008 21:35

Oh cool Dusty! A lift would be great.

Now can I just say in advance ..... I am NOT going to drink too much . I have to get dressed up as Princess Fiona the next day and go to a birthday party. I cannot be over the limit when I drive.

Hmmmm plan B ..... phone mate around the corner to pick dd and I up en route to the party.

Ok, if plan A (not drinking too much) fails then put df on alert for plan B.

Any bets on the chances of it being plan B?
