Prettybird · 10/12/2004 10:28

AimsmumTheRedNoseReindeer - I work in Berkeley Street (corner of Elderslie Street) - so can't be that far from where you are. Maybe we could meet for lunch some time!

AimsmumTheRedNoseReindeer · 10/12/2004 10:38

I used to live in Berkeley St, I'm not far from there at all. Lunch one day would be nice Smile

AimsmumTheRedNoseReindeer · 10/12/2004 11:10

Yeah summer I would be - didn't make it yesterday either, so definately on for the next time. Smile

Prettybird · 10/12/2004 11:16

I'm up for something in the New Year - but sod's law will mean that it'll be while we're away skiing. Don't know when we'll be away yet, as we'll be going for a last minute deal. Dh is away on a wine course in Austria (lucky sod Envy) one of the weeks, so we'll be working around that as well - but it might be that we fly/train to the Alps and then he goes on from there befroe/afterwards.

xxsummerxx · 10/12/2004 11:30

Thats cool, well lets leave it till all the festivities are over with, then we will try and get something organised.

Prettybird:- let us know when you get the holiday arranged for and we will work around that.

Just out of curiosity, what age are we all? & the children of course!!

Me:- 33
Partner, Mark:- 33
DS1:- 12
DS2:- 4 Months.

After Christmas sounds like a good idea (as I still have to do most of my christmas shoppingGrin).

Me - 26
DD - 4
Split up with DDs dad in April.
I work part time (monday to wednesday)

Prettybird · 10/12/2004 11:38

Me - 43
DH - 45
DS - 4

Would dearly love another one, but time is running out...... :(

xxsummerxx · 10/12/2004 11:49

I too still have alot of shopping to do, Just had a delivery of DS2's leap pad, bought it from babyworld, fantastic speedy delivery, only ordered it yesterday. Well chuffed.

Prettybird- I had my first son when I was 20 and had wanted more children, but due to many problems down below was told that it would probably never happen, so you can imagine how shocked and surprised I was to find out I was expecting DS2. But never give up hope and I dont really think you are ever to old to be a mummy.

Aimsmum- I broke up from DS1's father when he was only 8 months old, probably the best thing that could have happened really, didnt think that at the time though. Now I have my gorgeous partner Mark and we have another gorgeous son.
Life has a funny way of making things turn out just right (eventually) :o

I’ve also still got most of my Christmas shopping to do – had had good intentions to get well organised in advance and then went gallivanting off on a last minute holiday, which scuppered all my plans. It was semi business – dh needed to get his taste buds back into action prior to starting his Master of Wine course next week, so we went to see friends in the Cape and squeezed in a few days with family and visiting the Game Park in the North – suspect I won’t get much sympathy! Wink

Had thought that I might get some stuff while we were away – but a 4 year old and no baby sitting facilities are not conducive for Christmas shopping!

Am busy this Saturday (making a Gordon birthday cake for ds’ best friend’s birthday party in the afternoon) , so we’ll go and buy the Christmas tree on Sunday (it’ll be a 12 footer, so we’ll get it delivered). That leaves me a couple of free lunch hours and next Saturday and Sunday to do my Christmas shopping! Joy of joys! Grin

Plus I’ve still to unpack properly, do all the washing from the holiday, get cooking for our Boxing Day Open House, belatedly put up the advent calendar (although I did remember to take a Winnie the Pooh chocolate one for ds to start while we were away……), plant the tulips and daffodils I didn’t get round to before we went off………..

hellyp · 10/12/2004 12:30

silly me!! well seen i'm new to this!

Prettybird · 10/12/2004 12:31

... and welcome Hellyp. You'll soon be addicted! :)

hellyp · 10/12/2004 12:32

i was wondering if you were going to take a breath!! i'm exhausted just reading everything you've been up to!

xxsummerxx · 10/12/2004 12:34

Hellyp,

You'll get the hang of it soon enough and pretty soon you'll be addicted!!

there is just so much info to get through and loads of threads, i need to go though my dd has just shut her bedroom door behind her and is screaming blue murder!!!!! bye for now

AimsmumTheRedNoseReindeer · 10/12/2004 12:42

Your right prettybird, no sympathy from me Grin you sound like you've been having a fantastic time.
Well I'm off in a bit to brave the crowds and try and get some shopping done, I thought I would hold off a bit to try to miss the lunchtime rush, but I suspect it will be just as busy afterwards anyway!
I have DD with me who is unable to walk past the rides the have put up in the middle of both Argyle st and Sauchiehall st Angry so it could be a long day Grin
At least I have all her stuff in (the joys of online shopping, where it all comes delivered in big brown boxes so you cant tell whats inside).
Hope you all have a good day.Smile

Pagan · 10/12/2004 12:46

Hi

I'm in the southside. There is another thread somewhere for Glasgow Mum's meeting for a coffee. I'd love to join you all but life somewhat hectic at the mo and second due in January.

Me 35
DH 39
DD 15 months
Bump - 34 weeks and counting

FimboCLAUS · 10/12/2004 12:46

I am so jealous of you lot. I used to live in Glasgow (Giffnock - near Rouken Glen) years ago. I am orginally from Dundee (for my sins) but now live in South East England. Would do anything (and I mean anything) to move back to Glasgow but alas no jobs in DH's field Sad

Pagan · 10/12/2004 12:48

Giffnock is just a couple of miles from me - I'm in Netherlee
